So I was thinking about this for a while, and I really need some more excitement in my life. Sure I go away to college and it’s supposed to be the most exciting part of my life, but I want more excitement and I want to have stories to tell, “once in a lifetime” experiences, and also to do something productive with all this free time I have. See, I’m an adventurer and needs to just go out there and do whatever I want because I want to do it.
Lately, due to smoking a lot of pot, I haven’t been able to be myself and kind of succumb into a dark personality that’s not really not apart of me. More or less, I just became a lazy stoner and did not pursue anything that was part of my full potential.
Now with that said, time for business. I feel like 2011 should be a good year and much better than 2010. 2010 was an emotional roller coaster, full of ups and downs (a good amount of downs (not like down’s syndrome (parentheses inside parentheses (woah)))). This year, I’ll be able to see who I really am and the true person I’ve been missing out on for the past couple of years. So now that I’ve given you some background, I’m making a few new years resolutions. I’d like people to be proud of me, that would be nice, but really I just want to be proud of myself because I know that smoking really restricted me of my goals back in high school and the first semester of college. ANYWAY, here they are:
1) Run and finish the New York City 2011 Marathon in however long it takes my future in shape body to finish it.
2) Start karate and work my way up to a black belt.
3) According to my last.fm profile, the three most played artists to this year are Underoath, Coheed and Cambria (<3), and Thrice, respectively. I want to cover every on every studio album that they have released, at least on guitar.
4) GET INVOLVED WITH MY SCHOOL!!!!! This is what I actually liked about high school, believe it or not, because it kept me busy and it was fun! I’m going to find some clubs that interest me and that I know I’ll have fun with.
5) Get into great amazing shape.
6) Have a fairly stable income and make my own moneyzzzzz.
7) Rejoin the track team. The thrill of racing is the thing I miss most, and to not have that is just god awful.
8) Last but not least, quit smoking pot. I’m two weeks into it and I know I definitely don’t wanna do it, but what it leaves after is, I gotta say, pretty bad. I still don’t feel like my normal self and I know it takes time, but still, this sucks as of now. It doesn’t suck not smoking weed, it sucks emotionally after smoking so much weed.
Anyway, these are at least some of my new years resolutions for this year and I’d like to get it done! Wish me luck! I hope all of you complete yours!
